Reviews

“Eric Michael Craig cranks up the excitement and intrigue with Fulcrum of Odysseus.” – Daphne Thompson, SF Enthusiast

“If you enjoyed the hard science, intrigue, and interstellar action of Star Trek and felt that Skynet wasn’t far-reaching or threatening enough, then Fulcrum of Odysseus is definitely for you!” – Leland Lydecker, Author: Necrotic City

“… a trip that any science fiction aficionado dreams about. I like stories about first contact, if well narrated, and you can bet this is one. – Keyla Damear, Author

“Great characters put into very exciting and rapidly evolving situations make this book stand out. It has all the hallmarks of a great sci-fi adventure, and really, I wonder why the television rights to this series haven’t yet been bought.” – Geoff Habiger, Artemesia Publishing

Author Comments

When I sat down to write this story I actually knew where it would end up before I started (I am a serious plotter for those who know the term), but the characters seemed to jump out and take on a life of their own. I enjoyed playing with them as I worked them through the situations that I knew they had to overcome. I think the sarcastic attitude of Saf was one of the most enjoyable things I have written in years.

There are a few new characters in this book, and the focus tends to be on a broader cultural aspect than Legacy of Pandora. I really loved the feel of the people that populate Tsiolkovskiy Freeport East and the Slango Patois that they speak.

In this story I tried once again to emulate one of the classic authors of SF. In this case, I was shooting for Robert Heinlein along the lines of his novels, Friday or the Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I have received a lot of feedback from readers who say I got pretty close.
